FILM MAKING
LEVEL: Junior Infants to Sixth Class
COURSE OPTIONS: Two
FORMAT: The majority of the course work will be practical/hands on
TUTORS: All our tutors are trained, experienced and Garda vetted
COURSES:
Option 1 ONE DAY FILM MAKING (One Class Group)
Schedule: 9am-3pm
Format: Our tutor takes a class group for a full school day, and teaches them the fundamentals of film making through a series of games and exercises.
Fee: €550 (Total)
Option 2 ONE DAY FILM MAKING (Multiple Class Groups)
Schedule: 9am-3pm
Format: Our tutor takes one class group at a time, for one hour, and teaches them some of the key components of film making through an interactive
game. (Max five groups per day. These can be from any age level chosen by the school as the workshop is tailored according to age).
Fee: €550 (Total)
COURSE CONTENT:
FILM MAKING ELEMENTS – Overview of the various departments in filmmaking.
CAMERA – Aperture, Depth of Field, ISO & Colour Balance
LIGHTING – Natural vs Artificial.
SOUND – Microphones, Recording Devices, Sync Sound, ADR, Wild Tracks & Foley
DIRECTING – Script & Working with Actors
*For Option 1 each of the above will be covered broadly throughout the day. For Option 2 each group will be invited to play a simulated version of the process of shooting a film.
**OPTIONAL SHORT FILM SHOOT
Primary Schools that select Option 1 have the additional option of adding a second day (short film shoot) to the schedule. If selected, the short film would become the primary vehicle through which all other content is steered throughout day one. This includes script-writing and preparation to shoot.
